Marvin T. Lee, age 85 of Belle Plaine, Minnesota formerly of Glendive, Montana and Portland, Oregon, passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. Memorial service will be 3:00pm on Monday, May 6 at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine. Visitation will be 1hr.

prior to the service at the funeral home. Military Honors will follow the service and will be held in the parking lot of the funeral home. Marvin’s Last Round will be held at Johan’s following his services.

Marvin was born on March 6, 1934 to Ole and Helen (Thorsen) Lee in Fairview, MT. He graduated from High School in 1952 in Kalispell, MT. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country from 1952 to 1956.

He then spent four years in the U.S. Reserves and was honorably discharged in 1960. He married in 1957 and with that union had two daughters. Marvin was a telegrapher for Burlington Northern Railroad, which landed him in Glendive, MT.

He moved to Portland, OR in 1986, where he worked for Lewis and Clark College as a painter. He had a long career as a painter. Marvin retired in 1985 and spent the next 20 years in Richland, OR.

He married Beverly McClery in 1991, she passed away in 2010. Due to his health issues he moved to Belle Plaine in 2016 to be near his daughter. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing, and playing cards.

He also enjoyed singing and had sang in a quartet in the Navy Choir. He also enjoyed doing clay work, even though his eye sight had deteriorated. Marvin is survived by his two daughters, Sharon (Curt) Meeds of Belle Plaine, and Karen (Jim) Sefton of Seward, AK; grandchildren, Kevin Meeds of Belle Plaine, and Kelley Sefton of Anchorage, AK; brother, Ralph Lee of Billings, MT; and many step-children, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beverly; siblings, Harriet Counsel, Ellis Lee, Dorothy Bunse, and Judy Lee; grandchildren, Grant Sefton, and Eric Meeds.
