Obituary for Mary A. Gandara Mary A. Gandara, 91, of San Antonio Texas passed away on October 5th in Edinburg ,Texas. Mary was a graduate of Sydney Lanier High School in 1945 and married Ildefonso Gandara in 1950. She was a devoted partner and mother to three sons.

She was very active in her community and was always ready to help with PTA, her neighbors, and her church. Mary and Ildefonso were eucharistic ministers at St. Steven’s Catholic Church. She was an accomplished baker and seamstress.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ildefonso Gandara, and her oldest son, Robert Gandara. She is survived by her son Edward and his wife Patricia and her youngest son, George. There are seven grandchildren Steven, Lorrie, Melissa, James, Adam, Monica, and Rebekah.

Along with ten great-grandchildren Anthony, Kathy, Sarah, Gabriel, Corey, Kaitlyn, Savannah, Xavier, Kayden, Isaiah, Alexander and one great-great-granddaughter Avalon. Viewing will be on October 8th at 4 p.m. and a Rosary at 7 p.m. at Mission Alamo Funeral Chapels 624 N. Alamo, San Antonio, Texas. Mass is Tuesday October 9th at 10am at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 5919 Ingram Rd.
