Obituary for Mary A. “Motor” Harpring Mary “Motor” Harpring, 59 a lifelong resident of Rushville, passed away on December 1, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at home. She was one of 12 children of Eugene Fred Thomas and Edith May (Daugherty) Thomas. Mary was born in Rushville on November 6, 1959.

She was a 1978 graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School. Mary was known for her special touch as a phlebotomist for 22 years at Rush Memorial Hospital. Motor was a member of the Plum Creek Christian Church.

In her leisure time she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing bingo, and candy crush. Motor is survived by her loving mom, Edith Thomas of Rushville; daughters, Amy (Leedie) Lair of Westport, IN and Jennifer Buchanan of Rushville; step-daughter, Kayleigh (Mark) Gordon; son, Jonathon Harpring of Rushville; step-son, Rex (Katie) Yenowine of Rush County; significant other, Rex A. Harpring; brothers, Fred Thomas of Crawfordsville, Frank Thomas of Rushville, Chas Thomas of Rushville, Bobby Thomas of Rushville, Troy (Katie) Thomas of California; Ronnie Reifeis of Indianapolis and Michael Thompson of Orlando, FL; sisters, Nancy Caudill of Shelbyville and Juanita (Kenny) Frye of Rushville, Sharon Thompson of Orlando, FL and Loretta Thompson of Orlando, FL. She will also be missed by 9 grandchildren, Devin, Curtis, Nick, Kaitlynn, Jeffery, Taylor, Landon, Logan, Brynleigh; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Motor is preceded in death by her father, Eugene Fred Thomas. Services will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 2 PM in Moster Mortuary, with Pastor Zach Korff presiding. Friends are welcome to visit the family from 11 until the time of service.

Burial will be in Little Blue Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made out to Rush Memorial Hospital Sheehan Cancer Center. “It is what it is and ain’t no more”.
