Mary’s Obituary Mary Alyce Shannon, age 84, of Hermitage, PA, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at her residence. Born December 24, 1934 in Sharon, PA, she was the daughter of the late William W. and Edna Louise (Williams) Shannon. She was a 1952 graduate of Sharon High School and a 1956 graduate of Westminster College, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education and then went on to receive a Master’s degree also from Westminster.

Mary Alyce taught Kindergarten at Musser School for twenty-five years. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church where she also taught Sunday School and was involved in the youth activities. She was also instrumental in developing the Senior Program at the Salvation Army.

She is survived by a brother Dr. William T. Shannon of Concord, CA, A sister-in –Law, Virginia Shannon of Madison, WI, her dear friend Janet Stahl of Hermitage, PA, and five nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother Jerry K. Shannon and a sister-in-law Shirley Shannon. The family will receive visitors on Monday from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm at the Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home LLC, 264 E. State Street, Sharon, Pa.

A funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm from the funeral home with the Rev. Rick Stauffer and the Rev. James Moose officiating.

Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Salvation Army, Senior Program, C/O The Salvation Army, Fisher Hill, Sharon, Pa.
