OBITUARY Mary Barboza August 1, 1922 – July 28, 2018 Mary (Reis) Barboza, 95, of New Bedford, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Our Lady’s Haven in Fairhaven. She was the wife of the late Stanley Barboza for 73 years. She was born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Joseph and Amelia (Anacleto) Reis.

Mrs. Barboza had many interests including gardening, knitting, crocheting, cooking and baking. She made the best lemon meringue pie. She had a fondness for clothes and jewelry and absolutely loved children.

Mary was a devoted mother and grandmother who took great pride in her grandchildren whom she adored. She is survived by a son, Robert Barboza and wife Maureen of Bridgewater; three daughters, Marie DePina and husband Henry of Fairhaven, Amy Seiders and husband Edward of New Bedford and Denise Arsenault and husband Peter of Rochester; eleven grandchildren, Craig, Christopher, Jeffrey, Brett, Eric, Jonathan, Brian, Elizabeth, Steven, Erin and Keith; twelve great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Rachel, Jacob, William, Sophia, Bryce, Abigail, Charlie, Natalie, Dominic, Eli and Colin; one great-great-grandchild, Lydia; three sisters, Mariana Nunes, Dorothy Martin and Matilda Fernandes; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, John, Manuel and Frank Reis, Casilda Silvia and Emily Gonsalves.

Her Funeral will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 9 a.m. from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd. , Dartmouth followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Rd. , Dartmouth.

Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday 5-8 p.m. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. For online tributes please visit: www.
