Brown, Mary Bridget (Midge) (nee Peckham), of Rockford, Michigan, beloved wife, sister, and aunt, passed away suddenly on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018 at the age of 59. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Loren D. Brown, as well as her siblings, Lucy Quigg (Mike), Stephen Hamilton (Norfilia Ramirez-Hamilton), Kathleen Smith (Pat), Carl Peckham, brother-in-law James Brown, and mother-in-law Jeanne Brown, and two step-sisters-in-law Tamara Boylan (Brendan) and family, Kimberly Haverkamp (Nathan) and family.

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as many other important relatives and friends including four step-sisters and their families. At a young age, she lost her beloved father, Bob Peckham, and as an adult she was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Allen Anthony, her step-father Douglas Anthony, and her dear cousin Margie Hunsberger. She missed her father dearly and wrote an autobiographical book in the form of letters to him.

Midge and her sister, Kathy, were instrumental in caring for the mother and managing her estate when she began a rapid and confusing decline into dementia. Midge was the youngest of five siblings and her family was very important to her, as were her longtime friends, and she showed it in many remarkable ways throughout her life. Being of generous spirit, Midge was especially attentive to her nieces and nephews, remembering birthdays and life events.

She extended her love of children by working tirelessly for over 20 years at St. John’s Home. A true giving spirit, Midge fulfilled a role of dutiful relative, reliable coworker, or fun friend. She loved the arts, classical music, and delighted in good food, Michigan State fandom, and spending time up north at the Brown’s condo with family and friends.

She was known to many as fun, sweet, witty, spiritual, hard-working and most of all, reliable. She will be deeply missed and forever loved. Instead of a funeral, there will be a celebration of her life at a later date this coming summer.
