Obituary for Mary Christian “Chris” Ridout Beatley Mary Christian “Chris” Ridout Beatley, 89, of Richmond, VA died September 2, 2018. She was a member of Third Presbyterian Church and The Women’s Committee of the Richmond Symphony. Chris studied nursing at St. Luke’s Hospital in Richmond and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

As a teenager she was a US Army Air Force Ground Observer during World War II. Chris was the widow of William Alton Beatley and the daughter of the late Franklin A. Ridout and Mary C. Ridout of Providence Forge, VA. She is survived by three children Julia B. Kent and husband Al H. Kent, Evelyn (Lyn) B. Lloyd and late husband Ronald W. Lloyd, William A. Beatley, Jr. and wife Frances C. Beatley.

She is also survived by five grandchildren, Mary K. Berry (husband William Berry), Daniel H. Kent, Waylon C. Lloyd (wife Nikki S. Lloyd), William A. Beatley, III and Benjamin W. Beatley; five great-grandchildren, Gabriel Kent, Carolina Berry, Madelyn Kent, Colin Lloyd and Kayla Lloyd; a brother Franklin A. Ridout and wife Jacquelyn C. Ridout and many nieces and nephews. The family would also like to thank the caring staff at Brookdale Midlothian. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Olivet Presbyterian Church Cemetery, c/o Larry Davis, Treasurer, 4905 Lakemere Ct.

, N. Chesterfield, VA 23234. The family will have a celebration of life at the home of Julie and Al Kent on Sunday September 16, 2018 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
