Mary Christopoulos Pushard,89, of Gardiner, passed peacefully on July 9th, 2018 with those she cherished by her side. Her heart was overflowed in her final days, sharing precious moments with her family and friends. Mary was born to George and Mildred Christopoulos in Boston, Massachusetts.

She dedicated her entire life to her family. At a young age, and as one of the oldest of 11 siblings, she helped raise her brothers and sisters while her parents managed their family restaurant, the Central Café. She was incredibly proud of her Greek heritage.

She married the love of her life and soul mate, Oscar Pushard, in 1947 and they lived together in Gardiner and in Litchfield raising three daughters and watching their family grow over the years to include 9 grandchildren and many more great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Oscar Pushard, who is with her once again in heaven; her brothers Oliver Young, Arthur, John, and James Christopoulos; her sister Pauline Harrington; her oldest daughter Katherine McLaughlin, and her grandson Heath Oscar McLaughlin. She is survived by her siblings, Alice Kilroy, William Christopoulos, BettyAnn Burr, Paul Christopoulos, Sandra Alexander, and their families.

She leaves as her legacy her daughters, Karen Jordan and her husband James and Karol Elsemore and her husband Kerry, all of Gardiner; grandchildren, Maryann White and her husband Bill, Shadrach Christopoulos, Gregory McLaughlin, Kerry Elsemore and his wife Laurie, Michael Myatt and his wife Catherine, Matthew Myatt and his wife Jennifer, Kathleen Breton and her husband Jason, and Kevin Elsemore and his fiancé Tenisha Bourget; great-grandchildren Christian, Cody, Grace, Jacob, Madison, Simon, Leah, Aidan, Jaid, Avery, Griffin, Lexi and Jazmine, several nieces, and nephews. Mary was a proud daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She lived her life for her children and was always there when they needed her.

She taught her family many things over the years and over multiple generations, but the most important thing she taught them, was how to love. Her gentle smile and warm heart was always there when it was needed most and will be deeply missed. She never said goodbye, just see you later.

We love you more! Visiting hours will be held on Friday, July 13th from 10am to noon at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave. Gardiner.

Graveside services will be private.
