Obituary for Mary Corbett Peele Fountain………………………………. Mary Corbett Peele, 90, moved peacefully to her heavenly home the morning of Friday, April 27, 2108. The baby of six children, Mary was born at the family farm in Edgecombe County.

Her interests included family, homemaking, and all things beautiful. Mrs. Peele was a member of the Fountain Presbyterian Church for more than 70 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Logue Staton Corbett and Annie Felton Corbett; devoted husband, Robert Lee “Bob” Peele; brothers Logue and Jack; sisters Francis and Anne.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Anne Peele Petteway and husband, Hayes of Elizabethtown; granddaughter, Marybeth Eason and husband, Tommy; great granddaughters Mary Roberts and Hayes Eason all of Greenville; sister, Louise Everette of Fountain; and godson Joel Johnson of Smithfield. Funeral Service will be conducted Monday, April 30, at 2:00 P.M. at the Fountain Presbyterian Church by Rev. Jane Rose.

Interment will follow at Queen Anne Cemetery in Fountain. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fountain Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 456, Fountain, NC 27829 or the James and Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital, P. O. Box 8489, Greenville, NC 27835.
