Obituary for Mary Elaine Blomquist Mary Elaine (Heil) Blomquist, age 75, died at Bickford Senior Living and Memory Care in Champlin, Minnesota, on Saturday, June 30th, 2018. The cause was breast cancer metastatic to the lungs. Born November 7th, 1942, in Hutchinson, Minnesota, to Lorrine and Robert Heil, she livedon a farm in Hector until she moved to Minneapolis to live with her Aunt Adeline after high school graduation.

In 1966, she married Roy Victor Blomquist. Shortly after marriage she had two children, Kim and Lee Ann. She also cared for her two stepchildren Edward and Roy Jr as her own.

She lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota for the majority of her life with her husband, who she loved and adored. Mary was also a wonderful mother and grandmother that was cherished dearly. She worked for RyKrisp Crackers for many years and retired happily in 2013.

Mary was an avid bowler, participating in leagues for years at Earle Brown Bowling Alley. She was also an expert gardener, spending many hours out in her garden daily to care for her lawn, vegetables and multitudes of flowers. Mary will be especially remembered for her quick wit, support of her grandchildren and tenacious attention to detail.

Her husband, Roy; and daughter, Lee Ann; whom she loved and missed dearly, preceded Mary in death. Additional precedents include her stepsons, Edward and Roy Jr, and her parents, Lorrine and Robert. Survivors include her daughter Kim (Bob) Hamilton, grandchildren, Breanne (Kristen), Megan and Alex; and brothers Michael and Bruce (Maren) Heil.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. with visitation at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 10, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 7217 W. Broadway Ave. , Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Special thanks to the staff at Grace Hospice and Bickford Senior Living and Memory Care for their help and support.
