Obituary for Mary Ellen Brush Beres Mary Ellen (Brush) Beres, 69, of Hutchinson, passed away December 31, 2018 at home. She was born July 27, 1949 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (LaCivita) Brush. Mary Ellen received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree from California University and was a retired professor and counselor in charge of disability accommodations at Westmoreland County Community College.

She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church, Herminie. She is survived by her husband of 42 years Andrew “Steve” Beres Jr.; her children Joanna E. Beres of Hutchinson, Stephanie M. (Steven) Parrett of Chambersburg, and Andrew S. Beres III of Fox Chapel; her sisters Joanne (Lawrence) Burns of Latrobe and Janet (Donald) Rugh of Jeannette; also nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the William Snyder Funeral Home, 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Edward Catholic Church, 120 St. Edward Lane, Herminie, PA 15637. Those attending the Mass please go directly to the church. Interment will follow in Good Shepherd Cemetery, Monroeville.
