Funeral services for Mary Emily (Creel) Tobias, 61, of Huntington, will be held Sunday, May 5, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Pastor Rex Hoot officiating. Mrs. Tobias was born October 10, 1957 in Rusk, Texas, the daughter of Billy Creel and Letha (Atkinson) Creel, and died Tuesday, April 30, 2019 in Houston. Mrs. Tobias loved to go to the beach and enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles.

In her younger days, she was a barrel racer and raised and trained horses. Mrs. Tobias was a Seventh Day Adventist and worked as a manager at PetSmart. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Anderson of Huntington; son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Tesalee Anderson of Huntington; grandchildren, Brayden Hicks, Sarah Hicks, Colten Anderson, MiKayla, Garron, Sadie, Pashienze, Sandra Anderson, Sarah Linton, David Henson, Destini Logan, Brailee Tobias, and Lucchesse Tobias, all of Huntington; step-children, Chris Tobias, Denise Tobias, and Jason Tobias; sister, June Key of Rusk; nephew and wife, Eddie and Brittney Creel of Pollok; brother, Jerry Creel of Rusk; brother, Doyle Creel of Rusk; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Tobias was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister; brother, Bubba Creel; and nephews, Jase and Dilynn Creel. Pallbearers will be Eddie Creel, Jonathan Creel, Corey Hernandez, Chris Randall, David Yarbrough, Scott Pace, Tony Mitchell, and Danny Creel. Honorary pallbearers will be Shorty Jackson, Joseph Toombs, Richard Palomo, Jason McMullen, and Chris Tobias.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Shafer Funeral Home, prior to the funeral service. Shafer Funeral Home, Lufkin directors.
