Obituary for Mary Evelyn Ooten (Hassert) Rush Springs: Mary Evelyn Ooten, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 in Chickasha, at the age of 88. At the family’s request cremation has taken place and no services at this time are scheduled. All arrangements have been entrusted to Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Service.

Mary was born Tuesday, January 21, 1930 in Cincinnati, OH, to Author and Mary Jewila (Lafluer) Hassert. She worked as a nurse for many years and had lived in the Rush Springs area since 1989. Mary enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens.

She loved raising her farm animals and taking care of her pets. Mary enjoyed reading mysteries, Louis Lamoure and any classic books. She attended the Vimy Ridge Church.

Mary will be dearly missed by everyone that knew her. Survivors include, 3 daughters, Beverly Blankenship and husband Rick of Rush Springs, Tina M. Skains of Whitney, TX, Angela Ooten of Rush Springs, 2 sons, James Allen Ooten and wife Gene of Cleburne, TX, Derek Timothy Ooten of Rush Springs. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
