Obituary for Mary Geneva Goodwin Mary Geneva Hudson Goodwin was born on May 5, 1928, to Ollie Huston and Mary Pearl Thomas Hudson in Birmingham, AL. She was a 1946 graduate of Hueytown High School. On February 1, 1948, she married the love and sweetheart of her life, Roy Edward Goodwin, II.

Over the years, she became the selfless, loving, giving mother of four children. Geneva lived her life totally devoted to friends and family. She welcomed people into her home and had a special gift of making them feel accepted and cared for.

Geneva was a member of First Baptist Church, Boaz. She loved Jesus and taught her friends and family, by word and deed, to love Him, too. She peacefully left this earth for her heavenly home in the presence of her four children on April 11, 2018.

After having been widowed for 12 years, she was reunited with her husband and family in the presence of the Lord. She is survived by her children: Carolyn Ledbetter (Gerry), Nancy Hallmark (Jerry), Pat Hallmark (Randy), and Eddie Goodwin (Susan). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 1 great- great grandchild, brother, Hugh Hudson (Nell) and sister-in-law, Wanda Hudson.

She is preceded in death by her husband; Roy Edward Goodwin, II, parents; Ollie and Pearl Hudson, brother; Wayne Hudson, niece; Tammy Campbell Special thanks to Alacare Hospice and Dr. Barbara Kopyta. Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2018 at Etowah Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Whitesboro Cemetery.

Chris Reaves will officiate. Casket bearers will be Stephen Ledbetter, Luke Ledbetter, Hank Hallmark, Lindsey Goodwin, Tory Goodwin, Alan Willis, Chase Oglesby and Chris Reaves. Visitation will be Friday, before the service from 11:30 until 2.
