Mary’s Obituary Mary J. “Chuya” Hernandez, age 73, of Brady, Texas passed away Friday, May 17, 2019 in San Angelo, Texas. Chuya was born January 2, 1946 in Brady, Texas to Sylvestre Gomez and Victoria (DelaFuente) Gomez. She married Manuel Hernandez, Jr. on October 31, 1960 in Brady.

She was a homemaker and lived to care for her family. She is a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Brady. A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary “Chuya” Hernandez will be held at 10:00am Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Brady.

Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady. Friends may view Chuya’s Memorial Video Tribute and/or sign the online memorial guest book at www.

leatherwoodmemorialchapels.com. Pallbearers will be Juan Hernandez, Sammy Hernandez, Bobby Hernandez, Jesse Hernandez, Isaac Rodriguez and Christopher Rodriguez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Hayden Harding, Ray Torres, Jr., Marques Harding, Trey Chavez and Joe Angel Martinez.

Mary Hernandez is survived by her loving husband of over 58 years, Manuel Hernandez, Jr. of Brady, Texas; sons Juan Hernandez of Brady, Texas, Sam Hernandez and companion Elodia of Mason, Texas, Bobby Hernandez and wife Josie of Brady, Texas and Jesse Hernandez of Mason, Texas; daughters Maria Vara Martinez of Brady, Texas and Margaret Bara and husband Patrick of Brady, Texas; brothers Benny Gomez of Brady, Texas, Joe Gomez and wife Mary of Mineral Wells, Texas and Felip Gomez and wife Yolanda of Brady, Texas; sisters Irene Caswell and husband William of Bangs, Texas, Sylvia Cheeseman of Brady, Texas and Gloria Paulino and husband Ed of Brownwood, Texas; 23 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
