Obituary for Mary J Evans Mary J Evans Mary J. nee Wyatt Evans, 90 years of Millstadt, IL, passed away on November 30, 2018 at Memorial Hospital of Belleville. She was born April 1, 1928, in East St. Louis, Illinois, to Riley Wyatt and Mary Blanch nee McNulty Wyatt. Mary was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, Illinois.

She was a loving and caring wife, awesome mom, grandma, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and later owned the F.O. Evans Tavern in East St. Louis with her husband. Mary was an excellent cook.

She loved baseball and was a Cardinal baseball fan. She enjoyed watching the St. Louis Blues hockey team. She was a scorekeeper for the local pool league.

She liked bowling, feeding the birds, sitting in her swing, and listening to Harry James Big Band. She had a huge heart for dogs. Surviving are her son, Michael (Friend: Sandy) Evans of Millstadt, IL; her grandchildren, Debbie (Jack) Petty, Frankie (Billie) Evans, Bobby Evans, David and Andrea Petty, Ashley, Brittany, and Nick; grand daughter in law, Joni Evans; great grandchildren, Little Jack, Madie, Lilli, Alexander, Zak, Logan, Bailey, Ethan, Levi, Shanna and Austin; brother, John (Jean) Wyatt, brother in law, George Buddy Clifton; daughter in law, Jane Evans; nephew, Eric (Julie) Clifton; nieces, Dianne and Cathy Wyatt, Barbara (Rick) Villager, Charlene (Bill) Farney, and Denise Clifton; great nieces and nephews, Madison, Tyler, Ricky (Sheila) Villager, Michael Ray and Sammy Divers; special friends, David, Karen, and Olivia Batts, Rich and Anita, along with other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd O. Evans, Sr.; son, Floyd O. Evans Jr.; parents, Riley and Mary Blanch Wyatt; brother, Riley “Spike” Wyatt; sister, Marilyn Clifton; grandson, Timothy Evans. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Leesman Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM, on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, Illinois, with Father Marvin Volk officiating, with visitation one hour prior.

Interment will follow in the Valhalla Gardens Of Memory, Belleville, Illinois. A special thank you to the amazing Hospice team for all of their love and support.
