OBITUARY Mary J. Wood February 21, 1943 – November 5, 2018 It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Jeanette (Rogers) Wood, of Van Buren, announces her passing on Monday, November 5, 2018 at the age of 75 years. She was born February 21, 1943 in Fort Smith to the late Joe and Hazel Ruth (Dinsmore) Rogers. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church for over 50 years, and had worked at Norge/ Whirlpool, Kay Chair, USPS (GMF at Fort Smith), as well as, serving as secretary of the Board of Directors of Gill Cemetery for 35 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Earl Wood; and a sister, Alice Elaine (Rogers) Markward. Mary will be lovingly remembered by her two sons and their families, Joe Wood and wife Christy of Van Buren, and Sam Wood and wife Tara of Prosper, TX; a sister, JoAnn Ruth (Rogers) Helbling of Fort Smith; two brothers, Robert Dean Rogers and wife Pat of Fort Smith, and Richard Ewing Rogers and wife Ann of Van Buren; a brother-in-law, James Markward of Greenwood; six grandsons, Zachary McQueen, Robby Grigg, Landon Wood, Grayson and Tanner Wood, and Cordel Thompson; nieces and nephews, Saundra (Rogers) Williams, Sheila (Rogers) Lively, Bobbi Jo Rogers, James Helbling, and Scott and John Markward; several great-nieces and –nephews, and many cousins and friends. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 9, 2018 at Oak Grove Baptist Church officiated by Bro.

Joe Walden and Rev. Carel Norman, with interment to follow at Gill Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR. Pallbearers will be David Crabtree, Randy Loyd, Harold Lincks, John Boster, Larry Mullins, and Jack Emmert.

Special thanks to Dr. Paul Kradel and nurse Patty, Dr. Darren Street of Tulsa, Dr. Niegos and nurse Missy, Dr. Rena Shrestha and staff, and Mercy Hospice Staff.
