Mary’s Obituary Mary Jo Crossman age 77 was born and raised in Ionia, MI at the Welch family farm where she passed away December 17, 2018. She was born on August 24, 1941 the daughter of Daniel Sheldon and Emma Jane (Welch) Crossman. Mary graduated from Ionia High School, Class of 1958 and later from MSU, Class of 1962.

She taught history and geography at Owosso Public Schools and ended her career as a librarian. Mary was an active member in 4H and loved all animals on the farm, especially sheep, she also loved her dogs and cat. She was quite involved and assisted in the Ionia Free Fair along with her dad Sheldon.

She enjoyed playing golf and tennis and coached volleyball. Mary was a member of the Episcopal Church. The last few years of her life she was surrounded by loving care takers and she enjoyed those mutual friendship.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia on Friday, December 28th at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor John Kirkman officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 12:30 until time of service.
