Mary Jo’s Obituary Mary Joan Starkle September 14, 1932 – January 5, 2019 Mary Jo (MJ) Starkle passed peacefully from this world into the next surrounded by her loving family. She was called home knowing she had completed her life’s journey living a life full of faith, love and joy. She was born in Bismarck, North Dakota to Kenneth Sloniker (deceased) and Vera (McGuine) Sloniker (deceased).

She was married to Thomas Starkle (deceased) on September 15, 1956. They eventually moved to Moorhead, Minnesota followed by Aberdeen, South Dakota where they lived until Thomas passed away in 2009. She was employed by Wells Fargo bank until she retired.

She was an avid sports enthusiast following the Green Bay Packers as well as the Northern State Wolves. She had a particular fondness for college basketball and regularly attended Quarterback’s Club during her time in Aberdeen. Following Thomas’ death, she moved to Plymouth, Minnesota in 2010 to be closer to her family.

Mary Jo is survived by her two daughters: Kim (Rod) Sanders of Britton, South Dakota and Kelly (Kevin Johnson) Flesche of Plymouth, Minnesota, and five grandchildren: Shaun Sanders, Leslie (Chad) Peterson, Jenny (Troy) Hedtke, Matthew Flesche and Adam Flesche, and 3 great-grandchildren: Chase Peterson, Jacob Hedtke and Morgan Hedtke; sister, Judith (John) Olson. In lieu of flowers, memorials to to the American Cancer Society.
