Mary Lou Bertrand, 84, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on March 20, 2019, in Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 25, 2019, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Beaumont, Texas. Officiating will be Reverend Gus Wall.

Burial will follow the service at China Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, March 24, 2019, at Claybar Kelley Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont. Born in Churchpoint, Louisiana, on February 10, 1935, she was the daughter of Sidney Thibodeaux and Rose Richard Thibodeaux.

Mary was a kind, loving, and forgiving woman who was always there to help anyone in need. She enjoyed collecting rosaries and angels and loved to do crafts and sew. She even used her sewing experience to make dog clothes.

Mary loved her family dearly and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Rose Thibodeaux; her loving husband, Robert Bertrand; and a great-grandson, Grayson Howard Bertrand. Mary is survived by her children, Jo Ann Barkley, of Beaumont and Richard Bertrand, of Vidor; grandchildren, Mary Ann Sherry, Robert Bertrand, Melissa Bush, Michael Bertrand, and David Bertrand; along with many great-grandchildren and other loving family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Gilliland, Robert Bertrand, David Bertrand, Michael Bertrand, Justin Bertrand, and Chase Bertrand. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Mary Lou Bertrand please visit our Sympathy Store.
