OBITUARY Mary Lou Keitzer October 18, 1935 – October 25, 2018 Mrs. Mary Lou Keitzer (nee Kimbell) passed on October 25, 2018 in Houston, Texas at the age of 83. Mary Lou is survived by her husband, Dr. W. Ford Keitzer; children, George C. Robertson III, Vanessa R. Gray, and Joseph K. Robertson; grandchildren Zachary Robertson, Lucus Robertson, Grace Robertson, Eric Robertson, Andy McClenny; and great grandchildren Samson Robertson and Sage Robertson. She is preceded in death by her mother Marie Kimbell, sister Virginia Martin, and brother Edwin Kimbell Jr. Mary Lou was born on October 18, 1935 in Fulton, Missouri to Edwin and Marie Kimbell.

She graduated from Fulton High School in 1953 and from the University of Missouri with a degree in nursing. She married George Curtis Robertson II (now deceased), her high school sweetheart, a printer in 1953. She was employed at William Woods College, University Medical Center, and the VA Hospital in Colombia Missouri.

After moving to Port Arthur, Texas, Mary Lou began working for Park Place Hospital as Director of Nursing and Hospital Administrator. Mary Lou married Dr. W. Ford Keitzer and relocated to Tyler, Texas and continued her nursing career. Mary Lou was a passionate cook, and loved to grow her own herbs and tend to her azaleas.

She enjoyed reading and was very dedicated to her family and nursing career. Mary Lou loved training her nursing staff and participating in hands on patient care. A celebration of life is scheduled for November 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. inside of American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038, with a reception to follow.

Reverend John Bender will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mary Lou’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Buckner Hospice at 1321 Park Bayou Dive, Houston, Texas 77077.
