Mary Lou’s Obituary Mary Lou, of Farmington Hills, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday evening, March 7, 2019, at Ascension Providence Hospital, Novi. She was 85, and in the hospital only a few days. Mary Lou was born December 7, 1933, in Detroit, to the late John F. and Margaret (Campbell) McKeown.

She married Edward J. McKelvey on February 15, 1958, at Epiphany Catholic Church in Detroit. Sadly, Ed passed away July 19, 2005. Surviving are her daughter, Mary Margaret; son, Michael (Dori); siblings, Judy Nickelson, Thomas McKeown, Jerry McKeown, and Karen Lyon; grandchildren, Jessica (Tiffany) Locasto and Jason McKelvey; a great-grandson, Grayson Locasto; and many nieces, nephews and friends whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her husband, Mary Lou was preceded in death by a brother, Jim McKeown. Mary Lou’s funeral mass will be celebrated Friday morning, March 15th, at 11:00 am (gathering after 10:15 am) at St. Fabian Catholic Church, 32200 W. 12 Mile Road, Farmington Hills. Private interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield, at a later date.

In lieu of customary remembrances, those who wish to further honor Mary Lou’s life are asked to consider contributions to the Capuchins or the Farmington Hills Transportation Program. Kindly keep Mary Lou and her family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
