Mary Lou Parliman née Metcalfe (February 28, 1934-September 20, 2018) was born in Evergreen Park, Il. She graduated from Morgan Park High School, and received an Associate’s Degree in French from Ripon College. She met and married Jim Parliman and had three children.

Jim and Mary Lou moved to Flagstaff in 1973, making a home for their family, and becoming members of the community. Mary Lou loved to garden and became a master gardener. She was active as a volunteer at the Arboretum and The Museum of Northern Arizona.

Her death leaves behind her children Jill (husband Marc Kibler), Bart (wife Grace Egner) and Julie (husband Jeffrey Hilbers), 4 grandchildren (Morgan Kibler, Marlena Kibler, Zachary Parliman, and Aline Parliman), and many friends. No services will be held. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to The Museum of Northern Arizona in Mary Lou’s name.
