Obituary for Mrs. Mary Madeline Watkins Mary Madeline Robinson Watkins, 85 rejoined her loving husband on December 14, 2018. Madeline was born in Abilene, Texas and graduated from the Texas School for the Deaf in Austin, Texas in 1952. She was very active in many sports, drama clubs and was the interpreter between the hearing and the deaf community and even spoke to the Governor, Allan Shibers of Texas relating to the deaf school.

She married William R. Watkins, Sr. in 1953 and they remained married for 63 years. Madeline was a homemaker where she raised three children, loved reading books and going to the Diablos baseball games. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, William (Bill) R. Watkins, Sr., her parents, Jack Robinson, Fannie and George Maxwell, grandson, Jeremy Michael Price, Son-in-law, Bob Marek and half sister, Judy Baker.

She is survived by her beloved children, Debbie Marek, Mary (Jerry) Slawson and Bill Jr. (Alicia) Watkins; 9 grandchildren, Bryan Price, Jeremy (Liz) Price, Bailey Watkins, Morgan Slawson, Brandon (Courtney) Slawson, Jessica (John) Hronich, Mercedes & Isabella Pedregon and Francisca (Ben) Talasek. Madeline was a proud great grandmother to Joshua, Mathew and Jeremy Andrew Price, Mikyla and Bennett Slawson and Genevieve & Jedidiah Hronich. She is also survived by her half-sisters, Pat Mickelsen, Carol Robinson, Robin Robinson-Lucy, sister in law, Frankie (Troy) Barnes, brothers in law, Murray (Judy) Watkins, Ray Perkins, her aunt Kathy Fuller and many nieces and nephews and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, December 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m in Sunset Funeral Home East Chapel, 750 N. Carolina. Inurnment will be held at a later date. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Mrs. Mary Madeline Watkins please visit our Sympathy Store.
