Mary Mae Ferguson, age 86, died Wednesday, October 10, 2018 in Perham Living, Perham, MN. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 20 at Schoeneberger Funeral & Cremation Service in Perham. Pastor Ken Kirchenwitz will officiate.

A memorial service in the cemetery chapel and inurnment will take place on Wednesday, October 24 at 10:30 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Machesney Park, IL. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Reverend Kristine Delmore will officiate. Mary was born November 19, 1931 in Rockford, IL to Otto Lee and Caroline (Tobian) Dildine.

She was united in marriage to Donald J. Ferguson on April 15, 1950. She lived most of her life in Rockford where she graduated from East High School, class of 1949. She was a longtime member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church where she was confirmed and married.

Mary was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, volunteering as a Brownie leader, working on her church’s altar guild and bowling. She participated in state and national bowling tournaments for many years. Mary enjoyed travelling with her family and was able to meet her goal of visiting all 50 states.

In addition, she visited Australia, Mexico, Canada, Germany, France, Ireland, and St. Thomas, USVI, to name a few. She loved cooking and baking, and her favorite times were hosting holiday meals and celebrations for family and friends. Mary rejoined the work force in 1975 at H.C. Prange’s, later called Bergner’s, where she worked for over 30 years on the sales floor, loading dock and in the control department.

Surviving Mary are her daughters Sharon K. Johnson of Niceville, FL and Sandra Lynn Kingsbury of Perham; three grandchildren Sara Marie (David) Blunt of Cedar Park, TX, Michael C. Kingsbury of Crystal, MN and Jennifer C. Kingsbury of Cambridge, MN; two great-grandsons James Sargent and Alexander Sargent of Cedar Park, TX.
