Mary Mauzy Grant, 75, of McDowell, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2019 at Augusta Health in Fishersville. She was born in Highland County on November 30, 1943, a daughter to the late Lily Grace Harper and William Whitfield Mauzy. On September 26, 1964 she married Roy Lee Grant.

Mary enjoyed going to community events to listen to gospel singers, making stained glass items, crocheting and spending time at her water garden. Above all she will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother, who loved her family very much, as well as her beloved pet, Baby. In addition to her husband of 54 years, Roy Lee Grant of McDowell, she is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth “Liz” Hylton and husband, Duane of McDowell and Tina Grant and significant other, Dusty of Bridgewater; son, R. Lee Grant and wife, Demi of Richmond; eight grandchildren, Abby Hylton, Grace Hoilman, Addie Baugher, Maggie Baugher, Noah Grant, Nic Grant, Greyson Grant, Gigi Grant; sister Betty M. Caricofe of Monterey; and four brothers, Charles Mauzy of Staunton, Jack Mauzy of Spring Grove, Pa.

, Robert E. Mauzy of Staunton, and John H. Mauzy of Churchville. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In her memory, the family suggest memorial contributions be made to a Highland County community charity of choice.
