Obituary for Mary M. Pavlovich Mary M. Pavlovich Age 86, of O’hara Township, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2018. Beloved wife of 62 years to Lucas Pavlovich; loving mother of Jan (Diane) Pavlovich, Lucas Pavlovich, Jr., Matthew (Karen) Pavlovich and the late Mark Pavlovich; grandmother of Olivia, Jacob, Troy, Christine and Dennis; great-grandmother of Marcus, Ari, Adaline, Morgan, Ayden and Karrah; sister of the late Agatina “Tina” Mantarro; and daughter of the late Santo and Agatina (Rami) Mantarro. Mary was a teacher in the Fox Chapel School District for many years.

When she was expecting her first child, the PA School Code required some women teachers who were pregnant to leave their teaching positions. Mary refused to do so because she felt is was unconstitutional and continued to teach the remainder of the year. Teachers from all over the country sent her letters of congratulations.

As her children aged she earned her law degree at Duquesne University. Mary became an attorney and eventually became to Dean of a local college. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 from 6-8pm at the Thomas M. Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., 930 Center Avenue, Blawnox, PA 15238, where family and friends will gather at 9:30am on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 followed by Funeral Mass at St. Pio Parish/St. Edward Church in Blawnox.
