Obituary for Mary Ruth Howe Belle Plaine – Howe, Mary Ruth 89, passed away Sunday, July 22nd, 2018. She was born July 15th, 1929 to Maude and Elmer Neptune. Mary Ruth married Kenneth “Benny” Howe in October of 1949, together they had two daughters, Terry and Jana.

Mary Ruth was a lifelong resident of Belle Plaine, Kansas and a member of the Belle Plaine United Methodist Church. She loved baking cakes and cookies for the church, Barner Center, family and friends. Mary Ruth was a member of the Eastern Star.

Family was very important to her, and she cherished spending time with them. She is preceded in death by parents, Elmer Neptune, Maude (Snyder) Neptune-Crawford; step-father, Roy Crawford; husband, Kenneth “Benny” Howe; brother, Jim Neptune. Mary is survived by daughters, Terry Sisson (Kent), Jana Hatfield (Jeff); grandchildren, Lindsay George (Keith), Ryan Slack (Nicole), Jordan Sisson (Cammie), Jessica Bryson (Matt), Amber Kirk (Mike); great grandchildren, Ryder, River, Aspen, Indie, Brennen, Brylee, Hadley, Jillian, Trenton, Emery, Sophia, and Will.

Funeral Service will be held at Belle Plaine United Methodist Church 124 E. 10th Ave. Belle Plaine, Kansas 67013 on Thursday, July 26th, 2018 at 10:00 am. Memorials may be made to Barner Center 500 N Logan St, Belle Plaine, KS 67013 or United Methodist Church 124 E 10th Ave, Belle Plaine, KS 67013.
