Obituary for Mary Wickham Ginest Mary Wickham Ginest, devoted wife and loving mother of four children, passed away on the morning of Thursday, December 6th, 2018 at the age of 86. Mary was born on June 27th, 1932 in St. John’s, Newfoundland, to Emily and Thomas Wickham. She married Dale E. Ginest on February 3rd, 1962 and moved to the United States.

She was a steadfastly kind, supportive, and loving mother to their three daughters, Janet, Michele, and Jocelyn and their son Glenn. Mary’s family was the most important thing to her, and she was unfailingly kind, gentle, patient, and loving with her children and her children’s children. She was a devoted Catholic, an active member of her church, and had a close relationship with God.

Mary’s Newfoundland heritage was very important to her, and she loved sharing her culture and history with friends and strangers alike. Her humble presence and occasionally quirky sense of humor brightened every room she entered. Mary was preceded in death by her father Thomas, her mother Emily, and her sister Doss.

She is survived by her husband Dale, her four children, Janet, Michele, Glenn, and Jocelyn, 11 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and 10 nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 11th from 9:45am to 10:30am at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Hightstown, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30am. In honor of Mary’s bright spirit, the family will be wearing clothing that they feel celebrates Mary’s life, and the light she brought to us all, and they invite you to do the same.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Mary’s honor.
