Mary Valentino DeRosa of New Haven died peacefully on November 26, 2018 in Yale New Haven Hospital-St. Raphael Campus. She was the loving wife of 75 years of the late Anthony DeRosa. Mary was born in New Haven on February 29, 1924 to the late Angelo and Florence Carfora Valentino.

She worked in the restaurant at the former WT Grant Co., then for US Surgical Co. and later for 14 years at Giltex Manufacturing. Mary loved animals, especially her cats and also loved to cook and listen to music. She was the loving mother of Linda Ventura and Anthony (Dana Northway) DeRosa Jr. Proud grandmother of Joseph Delaney and sister of the late Philomena DeLucia, Phyllis Papa, Anthony, Salvatore, Frank and Pasquale Valentino.

Mary’s family would like to thank the staff at the Mary Wade Home and the doctors and nurses at St. Raphael’s for the wonderful care they gave her. Visiting hours will be Friday evening from 4-7pm in the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc. 11 Wooster Pl. Graveside services will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
