Obituary for Marye Lou Shafer Funeral service for Marye Shafer, 79 of Hennessey, will be Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 10:00AM at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Berkenbile officiating. Burial will follow in Hawley Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 at the funeral home. Marye was born on August 15, 1938 in Salt Fork, Oklahoma to Lyle and Dolores (Ekstrom) Osborn and passed away on June 24, 2018 in Enid. Marye married James Shafer on September 15, 1956 in Pond Creek, Oklahoma.

She enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Moose Lodge. She loved playing cards and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James and her parents.

She is survived by her four children, Doug Shafer and Greg Shafer of Hennessey, Scott Shafer of Enid, and Kerry and James R. Fuksa of Hennessey; one brother, Lyle Gene Osborn of Pond Creek; three sisters, Peggy Schoonover of Tampa, Florida, Debbie Aebi of Yukon, and Shirley Cole of Pond Creek.
