Maryland J. Vanwormer, 79, of 1300 Horsecreek Rd. Seneca, PA. , died Monday Nov.

5, 2018 at UPMC-Northwest in Seneca after an extended illness. Born Jan. 4, 1939 in Knox, PA.

, she was the daughter of the late Robert N. VanWormer and Emma M. Bell VanWormer Maryland graduated high school and went to nursing school. She had been employed several years in the Northeast area where she worked in farming. A homemaker, she enjoyed visiting with family and friends.

She is survived by one son Fred L. VanWormer of Seneca, with whom she made her home. And a niece she helped raise Brenda VanWormer DeLoe as well as many other nieces and nephews. Maryland was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She was preceded in death by the following brothers and sisters. Evelyn “Peg” VanWormer Wingar Mariam VanWormer Yashinski Frain William “Bill” VanWormer Leroy VanWormer Robert VanWormer Newton “Duke” VanWormer Hattie VanWormer DeLoe and John B. VanWormer Sr She was preceded in death by her son Ronald E. VanWormer.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and from 7-9 P.M. Thursday in the Reinsel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday in the Reinsel Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Maryland VanWormer Go Fund me account.
