OBITUARY Marylee Fries February 11, 1938 – September 2, 2018 Age 80 of St Paul peacefully passed away September 2, 2018. She was born February 11, 1938 to Charles “Otto” and Genevieve (Heidemann) Allen. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Francis “Joe” Fries, and a brother Robert Charles Allen.

She is survived by 3 daughters: Laura (John Cox) Fries, Jeanne (Bill) McLeod, and Catherine (Leonard) Barnes; eight grandchildren: Alex (Bailey), Lucy, George, Elizabeth, and Jack McLeod, Austin, Ethan and Elise Barnes; a special cousin Doreen (Ambrose) Degidio; siblings from her foster family: Joan (William) Trulsen, Roberta Bonney (Horst Falger), James (Diane) Bonney, and William Bonney. Marylee grew up in St. Paul and graduated from Our Lady of Peace High School. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary education from the College of St Teresa in Winona, and later received a Master’s degree in Special Education from the University of Wisconsin River Falls.

She always loved children and enjoyed teaching in South St Paul, Spring Lake Park, and St. Paul. The last half of her career was spent working with children with special needs. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Thursday September 6, 2018 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church 515 S. Albert Street, St. Paul, MN with visitation beginning at 9 AM.

Burial in Guardian Angels Cemetery in Oakdale, MN.
