Matilda’s Obituary Matilda Koren, 85 of Willowick, passed away Sunday February 24, 2019 at Hospice House in Cleveland. Born February 22, 1934 in Slovenia, she has been a resident of Willowick for 51 years. She worked for Halbrand in Willoughby for 17years, then worked for Topps as a clerk in the meat department.
Matilda was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Church, the Willowick Senior Center and the Stajerski Club in Cleveland. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and loved to cook. She is survived by her loving children Anka (Stanley) and Vilma (Kerry) Marino; grandchildren Melanie (Dan) Koltiska, John (Genna) Kozelj, Elizabeth Marino, Gabrielle Marino and Victoria Marino; great-grandchild Oliver Kozelj; siblings Anton Roj and Marija Serbinek.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Anton (+1992); parents Ivan and Elizabeth Roj; 4 sisters and 5 brothers. Visitation will be held Thursday February 28th from 5 till 8 pm at Jack Monreal Funeral Home, 31925 Vine Street in Willowick. Funeral mass will be held Friday March 1st 10:30 am at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 32114 Vine Street in Willowick.
Matilda will be buried next to her loving husband at All Souls Cemetery.
