Matilda L. “Tillie” Watkins, 96 of Jordan passed away Thursday in the Commons on St. Anthony, Auburn. Born in NYC, she was the daughter John and Angelina Massato Albano. Tillie was a 1939 graduate of Port Byron High School.

She was a long time communicant of St. Patrick’s Church, Jordan. Tillie was a legend at Jordan-Elbridge High School where she supervised the students during lunch time in the cafeteria. As the “lunch lady”, she was a kind hearted person who liked order during her cafeteria duty.

She was the widow of Melvin B. Watkins who died in 2012. Surviving are a son Melvin B. (Marjorie) Watkins, Jr., a daughter Dr. Carol Diane Watkins, 2 grandchildren Christopher and Nicole, and 3 great grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be 10am Saturday, Feb 16th in St. Patrick’s Church.

Spring burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Jordan.
