Maude Lee Owens McCarter at 104 years, went home to be with her Lord and Savior January 6, 2019. Born to John Crayton and Rettie Owens, in Cleveland County, on January 2, 1915. Maude grew up on a farm on York Rd.

in Kings Mountain. She was preceded in death by four brothers and 2 sisters. Married to Kelly McCarter in 1939.

Kelly preceded Maude in death, going home to the Lord in 1988. She leaves behind: Daughters Kay Carlisle, and Gloria Navy (Bill). Grandchildren Timothy Carlisle (Carolyn), Jonathan Carlisle (Melissa), Susan Castelli (Mike) and Meredith Navy.

Six great Grandchildren: Joshua, Ethan, Paul, Logan, Katherine, and Blake. Maude served her community by assisting the director of the Senior Center when located at the Depot, arranging many activities including line dancing and serving food. Favorite past time for Maude was her many visits to the Patrick Senior Center.

Playing bingo and working with ceramics brought great joy. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 10, 2019 12:00 Noon, at Central United Methodist Church 113 S. Piedmont Ave. , Kings Mountain, NC 28086 Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 11:50 AM prior to the service at Central Methodist Church Grave side service will follow at: Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery 1017 Bethlehem Rd, Kings Mountain, NC 28086 Family request in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Life Enrichment Center at 333 Kings Mountain Blvd.
