Sweeney, Maureen was born in Westfield, MA on November 26, 1934, the daughter of the late Thomas O. and Kathryn Cavanaugh. Maureen, known as “Moe” to friends and family, loved gardening, refinishing furniture, looking for treasures at antique shows, and making frequent trips to Maine with her husband and best friend, Larry.

Maureen enjoyed golfing, especially in the company of her father Thomas.

She delighted in visiting her sister Margaret in Boston, where she could shop and explore the city. She loved taking art and history courses at Westfield State University. Maureen was an extremely proud “Gram” to her two grandsons, Michael and Mark.

Professionally, Maureen worked as an office manager for two doctors and held other positions in the medical field. Maureen’s family would like to thank the kind and compassionate staff of Unit 3 at Wingate of West Springfield, MA for the outstanding care that she received since 2012. Sweeney and his wife Dr. Karen E. Marsian of East Longmeadow, MA, along with their sons Michael M. Sweeney of Sunderland, MA and Mark M. Sweeney of Savannah, GA. She also leaves behind her loving sister Margaret A. Cavanaugh of Westfield, MA.
