Maureen, age 73, passed away at home with her children and grandchildren by her side on November 17, 2018. Born September 12, 1945 in Glendale to John and Molly Girard. The family moved to Sunnyvale when she was a small child and she saw a small cherry orchard town turn into what it is today.

At the age of 19 she started a job at a small pool store and met her future husband Tony. They soon married, bought a house in Sunnyvale, and immediately grew their family. A mother of five, Maureen was an incredibly loving, selfless, and proud mother who devoted her life to her family.

Tragically, in 1981, their fourth child, Anthony (8), was hit by a car and returned to Heaven. Through managing their immense grief, they turned to their faith and the importance of family. Later in life Maureen and Tony found a love for cruising to the Caribbean and they spent many months enjoying the sun and sand.

Tony passed away in 2008 after a 3 month battle with cancer. Those who loved Maureen definitely feel a sense of comfort knowing that she has been reunited with her husband and son in the Kingdom of Heaven. Maureen is survived by her loving children, Stephen Raiola, Lisa Graf, Nicole Locicero (Joe), and Gina Rodriguez (Mike); her grandchildren, Vinchenza (24), Anika (16), Nicholas (19), Isabella (19), Rocco (17), Jovanna (15), Sofia (6) and Michael (3); her sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and close friends.

Her love and compassion impacted many people and she will be deeply missed. A Rosary and Viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 10am, with the Funeral Mass to begin at 11am at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 473 Lincoln Avenue Los Altos, CA 94022. In lieu of flowers, please send your donation to Team G Childhood Cancer Foundation in honor of her granddaughter Sofia, who was diagnosed with Leukemia at age 3.
