The Boutin Family Patriarch, Maurice Albert Boutin, age 83, passed away at his home Tuesday, July 3, 2018 in Las Vegas surrounded by family, after a long battle with heart disease. He was born in Concord, New Hampshire on January 4, 1935 to Albert and Irma (Chateauneuf) Boutin. Maurice is survived by his wife of 61 years, Claire Marie (Jean) Boutin and four children, Scott Boutin of Las Vegas, Anne (Edward) McGuire of Las Vegas, Thomas (Theresa) Boutin of Leonardtown, MD and Peter Boutin of Mount Vernon, OH.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Lauren McGuire, Christopher McGuire, Lindsey McGuire, Margaux Boutin, Mathew Boutin, Thomas Boutin Jr, Chelsea Boutin, and Brian Boutin, and great grandson Liam Boutin. Maurice is welcomed into heaven by his parents Irma (Chateauneuf) Boutin (1983) and Albert Boutin (1988), sister Theresa (Boutin) Kiernan (1992), father-in-law Peter Jean (1982), mother-in-law Albina Jean (1983), sister-in-law Rita (Jean) Simoneau (2009), brother-in-law Noel Simoneau (2001), and brother-in-law Richard Kiernan Sr. (2017). Maurice (“Moe”) graduated from the University of New Hampshire (UNH) in 1956 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering working his way through college as a surveyor for the State of New Hampshire.

He also was the president of the UNH Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Moe played the clarinet in the Nevers Band in Concord, NH and served in The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He also worked as a civil engineer at U.S. Steel, Meridian Engineering, and Keating Building Corporation.

He worked on many major building projects including the Vehicle Assembly Building at NASA in Cape Canaveral, FL, the Verrazano Narrows Bridge in New York, One Police Plaza in NYC, the Philadelphia International Airport, the Reading Terminal in Philadelphia, the Garden State Park Racetrack in Cherry Hill, NJ and many casino buildings in Atlantic City, NJ. He is also survived by many extended family and friends: Kay Cobb, Roger Chaput, Jaqueline Boutin, Richard Kiernan Jr., Ron and Marylou Drohr, Gerry and Ann Hallahan, Brian and Jane Friolet, Paula and Kevin Brodeur, Rene and Robin Simoneau, Patty Tremblay, Denise and Donald Hurt, Susan Sanborn, Linda and Jeff Makos. Also, many nieces and nephews: Richard, Theresa, Johnny, Bethany, and Christopher Kiernan, Patrick and Lauren Drohr, Michael and Elizabeth Hallahan, Meghan and Joseph Friolet, Joshua and Nicole Brodeur, Abigale and Austin Simoneau, Peter, Katie, and Laure Tremblay, Devon Hurt, Cheryl and Dawn Sylvester.

Close friends: Jim and Joan Rowan, Jackie and Gene Williams, Judy Phillips, Bob and Betty Curtis, Ken and Ginny Cestari, and Dan and Aleen McGuire. He lives on in the loving memories that he created with each of us, from his many boating trips at the Jersey Shore, winter and summer trips to NH, and the many family gatherings over the years. The family would like to thank Todd and Mary Ann of Hospice Del Sol and all the caregivers, doctors and nurses who helped make the end of his life more comfortable.
