Maurice “Big Mo” Wayne Ray, 53, of Watts, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, January 28, 2019 at his home. Maurice was born on December 21, 1965 to Everett and Patsy Ray in Tahlequah, OK. On January 31, 1997, he married Pat Ray in Bentonville, AR.

He worked as a Reserve Officer, Dispatcher for Watts and Westville Police Department, Inspector for the Adair County Election Board, Boy Scout Leader, and served as Co-Chairman for the Democratic Party. He loved collecting vehicles, watching his wrestling, making people laugh, fishing, wheeling and dealing, and going to car races. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his father, Everett Ray; his wife, Pat Ray; 4 sons, Dakota Veihl, Jeremy Ketcher, Johnny Osborn, and grandson Corgan Ketcher all of Watts, OK, and Jeff Ketcher of Newport, AR; Daughter, Dezaray Holtzclaw and husband, A.J. of N.C.; 2 Sisters, Lorinda Driskill and husband, Kevin, and Brandi Ray; 7 Grandchildren; 1 Great-Grandchild on the way; 5 Nieces, Gracie Driskill, Kaylisha Ketcher, Tabatha Payton, Shania Peters, Lucretia Dietrich; 6 Nephews, Scott Miller, Brandon Ray, Dennis Peters, CJ Ketcher, Tommy Frazier, Taylor Frazier; and 2 Step-Brothers, Nathan Koonz and Roger Ray; 2 sister-in-laws, Sandra Ketcher and Paula Peters; 2 brother-in-laws, Tom Frazier and Leonard Frazier. He is preceded in death by his mother, Patsy Ruth Noel Koonz; Fraternal Grandmother, Bessie Micco Bushyhead; Fraternal Grandfather, Maurice Ray; Step Mother, Alice Ray; Maternal Grandmother, Willie Cupp Noel; and Maternal Grandfather, Henry Noel; Mother-in-law, Kathryn Frazier; and Father-in-law, Leon Frazier. A visitation for Maurice will be held on Monday, February 4, 2019 from 10:00am-2:00pm at Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Chapel in Siloam Springs, AR.

The funeral service will follow at 2:00pm with Pastor Billy George Pettit officiating. Burial will be held at New Hope Cemetery. The arrangements are entrusted to Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs, AR.
