AMBROSE, Maurice Lavon “Von”, 43, of Dayton, Ohio, born July 21, 1975 in Chicago, Illinois, transitioned into eternal rest Saturday, November 3, 2018. Maurice received his salvation at the age of 33, and was an active member of the Power House Church in Dayton under the leadership of prophet Daryl Hamison. He received his GED at a Vocational Center in Tchula, MS where he grew up.

“Von” had a big heart and personality with a soft spot in his heart for his family. He would literally give the shirt off his back to help his family or someone in need. He had a great sense of humor that made everyone around him laugh.

Von would often tell jokes that brought life to the party. He was indeed a supportive and loving father, son, brother and friend. He will truly be missed.

We love you Von. Preceded in death by his mother, Debra Ambrose. He was the loving father of two children: son, Aavon Coffer of Waterloo, IA; daughter, Deniah Cloyd of Memphis, TN.

Maurice leaves to cherish his memory his father, Maurice (Mary) Ambrose of Chicago, IL; brothers, Timothy (Michelle) Ambrose of West Carrollton, MS, Paul Ambrose of Dayton; sisters, Shenita (Ortez) Head of Tchula, MS, Sylvia (Anthony) Eziolisa of Dayton. Left to honor and remember Maurice are grandchildren, Aavon Coffer Jr., Aavion Coffer; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Homegoing celebration will be held 1 pm Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave.

Visitation 10 am at the funeral home until time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment Jeffersonview Cemetery.
