Obituary for Maurice Randolph Miller A funeral mass will be celebrated for Maurice “Mo” R. Miller, 81, Valley City, North Dakota will be 10:30 am Thursday, October 18, 2018 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Valley City. He died Saturday, October 13 at the Sheyenne Care Center. Maurice Randolph Miller was born November 28, 1936 in Valley City to Samuel and Rose (Berg) Miller.

He grew up in the Eckelson, North Dakota area and graduated from Eckelson High School in 1954. He attended North Dakota State College of Science, Wahpeton, North Dakota for two years and became an excellent welder. Mo served in the US Army and National Guard Reserves for six years and upon his discharge he began farming with his brother, Robert.

He married Millie Seig in 1968 and later married Della Van Erden. After 40 years of farming he retired and took care of his mother until her death in 1999. On July 13, 1999, Mo married Elaine Sadek and they made their home in Valley City.

Elaine passed away September 8, 2003. Mo later made his home at the Legacy Place before entering the Sheyenne Care Center in 2012. Mo is survived by a daughter, Melissa (Gary) Bohnenstingl, Lidgerwood, North Dakota and a son, Rocky Miller, Wyndmere, North Dakota; a brother, Robert Miller, Spiritwood, North Dakota and two step-sons, Richard Seig and Robert Miller.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Larry, his wife, Elaine and a step-daughter Marjorie Jorgenson. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel,, Valley City. An online guestbook is available at www.
