Obituary for Maurice Wendell Jefferies Maurice Wendell Jefferies, 63, of Lowell St., departed this life on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at his residence. He was born April 23, 1955 in Shelby, North Carolina to Willie Ray and Dorothy Mae Jefferies. Maurice attended Cedar Grove AME Zion and Weeping Mary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Marcus A. Jefferies. He leaves to cherish his fond memories his wife, Cynthia Jefferies of the home; seven children: Jonathan Brice of Hickory, Christina Brice, Latonya Brice, Marcia (Daron) Davis, Priscilla Jefferies, Teresa Jefferies and Mary (Jonathan) Jackson all of Gastonia; 21 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; five brothers: Ronald Jefferies, Dennis Jefferies, Alan Jefferies, Wilbur Jefferies and Richard Jefferies; four sisters: Donna Jefferies, Priscilla Kennedy, Sarita Anderson and Pamela Jefferies; man’s best friend, Dallas Jefferies, his dog and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The funeral service will be Sunday at Weeping Mary Baptist Church, 1799 Old Highway 321, Bowling Green, SC at 12:00pm.

Burial will be at Gaston Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday at Files Chapel Baptist Church, 900 Dixie St. from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Maurice Wendell Jefferies please visit our Sympathy Store.
