Obituary for Maurine P Berger (Beisel) Print Maurine P. Berger was born July 29, 1925 in Antelope, Kansas the daughter of David and Pauline Eva (Deines) Beisel. She grew up in the Tampa area graduating from Tampa High School in 1943. On July 21, 1945 Maurine was united in marriage to Duane Berger at the home of her parents in Tampa.
Maurine worked for the Alco General Office in the Accounts Payable Department for thirteen years, but the most important part of her life was being a mother, wife, and grandmother. Maurine was a member of the Emmanuel Church for seventy years, the United Methodist Women, and was a charter member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, and sewing.
Maurine passed away Sunday, November 25, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She is survived by her daughter Christine Berger of Abilene, sons Timothy of Abilene, John and his wife Donna of Abilene, Douglas of Georgetown, Texas; brother Don Beisel of Hamilton, Montana; sister LaVerna Render of Colleyville, Texas; grandchildren Tara (Kevin) Tiernan of Abilene, Kelsey Berger of Kansas City, Missouri, Cody Berger of Abilene, Kylie (Brian) Lee of Abilene, Andrea (Kyle) McCook of Solomon, Bethany (Karl) Franz of Abilene; great grandchildren Rhett and Henley Tiernan, Charles and Margaret Lee, Kilynne, Myah, and Asher McCook, and several nieces and nephews. Maurine was preceded in death by her loving husband Duane on April 28, 1993 and her brother Marvin Beisel in 2004.
Funeral services for Maurine will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 29, 2018 at the Emmanuel Church in Abilene with Reverend Gordon McClure officiating. Her final resting place will be in the Abilene Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church on Thursday.
