Obituary for MAVA HUEY McCRORIE Mava Huey McCrorie, passed away on July 27, 2018, at the age of 84. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hueytown. Mava attended the Hueytown School Systems, grades one through twelve.

She attended Judson College, and she attended Birmingham Southern College where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She was a math teacher who taught in various school systems, wherever she and her husband lived. Mava also enjoyed counted cross stitch.

Her home is filled, as well as her daughter’s with her beautiful works. Her most memorable and enjoyable year of teaching was her first year at Auburn while her husband was a senior there. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Katherine Huey.

Mava is survived by her husband of 62 years Stuart McCrorie; daughter Gala Douglass (Steve); grandchildren, Leslie Burns (Greg) and Kevin Douglass (Kristin); great grandchildren, Gage Burns, and Brinley Spruiell. At Mava’s request, a graveside service for immediate family was held Friday, July 27, 2018, at 2:30 PM, at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their graditude to the staff and caregivers at Self Rehab and to Southeast Hospice Network.
