Mavis L. Strain, of Camden-Wyoming, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, September 14, 2018. She was 55. Mavis was born August 6, 1963, in Washington, D.C. to the late, Jesse & Janie Mae (Woods) Stallings.

She served proudly in the United States Air Force for 27 years before retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant; and later worked as a data analyst with the State of Delaware. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Strain and her sister, Renee Stallings. Mavis is survived by her husband of 34 years, Merlin Strain; 2 children, Kimberly Nicole Strain & Jonathan Eric Strain, both at home; and her 2 brothers, Anthony & Brian Stallings, both of Virginia, and her sister, Ava Stallings, of Dover.

Viewing will be held from 6 to 8 pm, Friday, September 21, 2018, in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave. , Wyoming; and 10-12 noon, Saturday, September 22, 2018, with services beginning at 12 noon, in the First Pilgrim Baptist Church, 6 Miles Lane , Camden, DE. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow in Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.
