Max Ray Peterson, age 93, died January 7, 2019 at his home in Alamo, Nevada. He was born December 6, 1925 in Garfield, Utah to Niels Burk and Norma Gillette Peterson. On September 9, 1946 he married his sweetheart Donna Marvella Youndell in West Jordan, Utah.

On January 14, 1964 they were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Max was in Magna, Utah with two brothers and one sister. He joined the Navy at age 17 where he served on the USS Philip during WWII.

His ship survivied Hurricanes, Kamikaze Attacks and many battles in the South Pacific. After the war, he married his sweetheart. They raised their family in the Salt Lake Valley where he worked first as a roofer, then for the SLC Gas company, then as a master brick mason.

He and Donna retired to Alamo, Nevada in 1991. Survivors include his wife, Donna; three sons and one daughter: Neils (Lorelei) of Salt Lake City, UT; David (Kris) of St. George, UT; Sharon Rusak of Riverside, CO; Robert of Alamo, NV; 14 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Don; three grandchildren; two brothers and one sister.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 1 p.m. at the Alamo LDS Chapel.
