Harold Max Waterson, age 92, of Huntertown, died at home on Friday, February 8, 2019. Mr. Waterson was born at home on July 12, 1926 in Leo-Cedarville, Cedar Creek Township to Clarence McKee and Eva Mae (Gump) Waterson. He loved God, family, country, and friends.

A WWII veteran, he honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1945 – 1946 and in the Army Reserves for three years. He was employed with the Dana Corporation for 37 years before retiring in 1983. He found joy in everything electrical, fishing, music, games, and travel.

He spent eight years with RVICS and loved vacation time with his family. As a young boy, a church invitation to his best friend generated years of service to Christ which becomes a living testament to his faithfulness to God. Max is survived by his wife, Beverly of Huntertown; daughter, Vickie Sue (Dave) Gillett of Auburndale, Florida; daughter-in-law, Vickie Kay Waterson of Albion; Smith brothers-in-law, Roger (Karen) of Churubusco; David of Ossian; Larry (Roseann) of Auburn; stepdaughters, Ronda (Kevin) Wray of Johnston, Iowa; Brenda (Tracey) Shafer of Danville.

Grandchildren, Mathew D. (Leslie) Gillett of Atlanta, Georgia; Joshua Gillett of North Carolina; Tracy (Kevin) Strater of Albion. Great grandsons: Kaleb and Samuel. Step grand children, Preston, Emily, Ethan Shafer, and Anthony Wray.

Goodyear nephews: Ron (Janet), Steve (Joann), Larry (Deb). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Marilyn Jean, son, Rick. Sisters and husbands Velva (Philemon) Smith, baby Mabel M., Edna, and Zelma (Freeman) Goodyear.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 11, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Fellowship of Wesley Chapel, 13733 Wesley Chapel Road, Churubusco with Pastor Larry Smith officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Memorial donations may be made to the Wesley Chapel.

Interment with military honors will follow at the Huntertown Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the burial at Wesley Chapel.
