Funeral Service for Mrs. Patricia Maxine Stroud Pinckard, 76, of Opelika, Alabama, will be Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 3:00 pm at Jeffcoat-Trant Funural Home. Burial will follow in the Garden Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home.

Mrs. Pinckard passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Bethany House with her family by her side. She was born on September 5, 1942 in Clanton, Alabama to Betty Golson Stroud and James Cleveland Stroud. She was a member of Tenth Street Church of Christ and later a member of First Baptist Church of Opelika where was an active member of Mrs. Bobbie Meadows Sunday School class.

Mrs. Pinckard was a proud graduate of Auburn High School, Class of 1960. She retired from Ampex Magnetic Tape Division (Quantegy) after 35 years of service where she started out as a lab technician and eventually rose to become a board certified Occupational Health and Safety Inspector. As a young woman she was a semi-professional bowler, avid cook, and cake baker.

The neighborhood boys remember her as Mrs. P and she enjoyed watching them play in her front yard. She was an active supporter of her children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, and grand nieces/nephews. Mrs. Pinckard was a proud supporter of all military service members and never missed an opportunity to tell them how much she appreciated their service and their scarifies for our country.

In retirement Mrs. Pinckard volunteered at EAMC and worked with polling locations. She enjoyed growing tomatoes, cucumbers, muscadines and then canning or making jelly. She is survived by her husband, Ken of Opelika; daughter, Jewel (John) Grigsby; son, Kenny (Ginger); son, Kyle (Stephanie); grandchildren, Taylor, Christopher, Meredith, Lucas, Andrew and Ann Russell.

She is also survived by her siblings Virginia (Don) Taylor, Joe (Karen) Stroud, Rob (Beverly) Stroud, extended family and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Betty Stroud. Memorial contributions may be made to the USO at www.
