May’s Obituary May M. Martin, 85 of New Oxford, formerly of Hanover, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 02, 2019 at the Brethren Home Community. She was the loving wife of the late Edward S. Martin, Sr. who passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010; together they shared 58 years of marriage. Born August 3, 1933 in Hanover, she was a daughter of the late Howard E. and Helen F. (Rhinehart) Laughman.

May was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother; she cherished her family and loved spending time with them. May also enjoyed gardening and flowers. May is survived by four children, Rickey Martin and his wife Christine of Hanover, Edward S. Martin, Jr. and his wife Victoria of Littlestown, Brian Martin and his wife Kathi of Hanover, Linda Masenheimer and her husband David “Whitey” of Hanover; a brother, Richard Laughman of Hanover; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and a cherished friend for over 70 years, Dorothy McAdams.

In addition to her parents and husband, May was preceded in death by four siblings, Catherine Gladfelter, Shirley Clapper, Earl Laughman and LeRoy Laughman. A service to celebrate the life of May M. Martin will be held at 11a.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at the Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, PA with Pastor Jerry Bears officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and then again on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Mummerts Meetinghouse Cemetery, East Berlin. Pallbearers will be; David Masenheimer, Jr., Jason Masenheimer, Chad Martin, Zach Martin, Justin Martin, Edward Martin, III, and Bradley Martin. To share memories of May M. Martin, please click the “Sign Guestbook” link above.
